Jan Schoolmeesters

Jan Schoolmeesters is the EVP Operations at TGS, a position they have held since August 2019.

Jan has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Jan started their career as a (Chief) Observer with PGS Geophysical from September 1995 to November 1998. Jan then moved on to PGS where they became the Regional President, Asia Pacific responsible for marine contract sales and optimization of PGS activities in the Asia Pacific region, including management of the 4 offices in the region. Under Jan's leadership, annual revenues increased to $250m.

In 2011, Jan left PGS to join Spectrum ASA as the Chief Operating Officer. At Spectrum ASA, Jan was responsible for executing the strategy plan and delivering the annual targets. During Jan's 8 year tenure, company revenues increased from $27m in 2010 to an average annual revenue of $134m. Jan's role was multi-functional and included frequent investor relations meetings/presentations, strategy development, M&A due diligence, and developing strategic partnerships.

Jan Schoolmeesters is a seasoned executive with a proven track record of success in the oil and gas industry. Jan is a strategic thinker and an excellent communicator with a passion for building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Jan Schoolmeesters has a GMP from Harvard Business School, a Ph.D. in Geophysics from Delft University of Technology, and a Master's degree in Earth Sciences (mining and petroleum engineering) from Delft University of Technology. Jan also has a certification from the MIT Sloan School of Management in Machine Learning: Implementation in Business.
