Karyn Cook Zafran

Karyn Cook Zafran is a seasoned professional in technical editing and editorial management, currently serving as a Senior Technical Editor at The Aerospace Corporation since February 2008. Notably, Karyn received an award in June 2024 for enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in future programs by establishing a reference standard for digital engineering contract language for the Space Force. Previous editorial roles include Managing Editor at the Journal of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Senior Editor at Design & Test of Computers, Managing Editor at Obstetrics & Gynecology (The Green Journal), and Senior Editor at Rehab Management. Karyn began an editorial career as an Editorial Assistant at the Journal of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, now known as the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Karyn holds a Grant Writing and Administration Certificate from California State University-Dominguez Hills and is an alumna of California State University, Long Beach and Los Alamitos High School.
