David Surovik

David Surovik is a Research Scientist at The Boston Dynamics AI Institute since October 2022, with prior experience as a Research Scientist at Perceptive Automata, where significant contributions included the integration of State-of-Mind AI for autonomous vehicles. Surovik's academic background includes roles as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Oxford and Rutgers University, focusing on dynamic legged locomotion and locomotion control for NASA's tensegrity rover prototype. Early career experiences involve internships at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, supporting spacecraft navigation for ESA's Rosetta mission, and involvement in autonomous mission design during graduate studies at the University of Colorado Boulder, where Surovik earned a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering. A Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering was obtained from Texas A&M University.
