Marcia Wallace Ph.D., Rpp

Marcia Wallace, PhD, RPP has extensive work experience in various government roles. From 2019 to present, they served as the Chief Administrative Officer for The Corporation of the County of Prince Edward. Prior to that, from 2013 to 2019, they worked at the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. In this role, they held several positions including Assistant Deputy Minister and Regional Director, where they were responsible for provincial policy implementation and creative problem-solving in areas such as land use planning, housing, municipal governance, municipal finance, and disaster management. From 2008 to 2013, Marcia worked at the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, where they led a client-centered transformation of the service delivery model for environmental approvals and developed a streamlined approach to environmental approvals to support renewable energy projects. From 2005 to 2008, they established the Office of the Brownfields Coordinator at the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, focusing on encouraging remediation and redevelopment of contaminated sites. Marcia also has experience in academia, serving as an Assistant Professor at York University from 1998 to 2001.

Marcia Wallace, PhD, RPP, has an extensive education history. Marcia began their academic journey at the University of Calgary, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science from 1988 to 1992. Following this, they pursued further studies at Queen's University, completing their Master of Arts (MA) degree in Political Studies from 1993 to 1994.

Marcia's educational pursuits culminated in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Urban Planning from the University of Waterloo, which they obtained from 1994 to 1999. With their diverse educational background, they have acquired a strong foundation in both political science and urban planning.

In addition to their academic accomplishments, Marcia has also obtained professional certifications. In November 2005, they became a Full Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners.
