Joseph J. Fins, MD, MACP, FRCP, is the E. William Davis, Jr. M.D. Professor of Medical Ethics and Chief of the Division of Medical Ethics at Weill Cornell Medicine, where responsibilities include directorship of the medical ethics program at New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center. As an influential figure in medical ethics, Fins serves as a Visiting Professor of Law at Yale Law School and engages in academic leadership as Chair of the Board of Trustees at The Hastings Center. Additional roles include Co-Director of the CASBI Consortium for the Advanced Study of Brain Injury, Trustee Emeritus at Wesleyan University, and Adjunct Faculty at Rockefeller University. Recognized for significant contributions to both medicine and ethics, Fins holds degrees in Medicine from Cornell University and a Doctor of Humane Letters from Wesleyan University, with an honorary Doctor of Medical Science from the Medical College of Wisconsin expected in May 2025.
