Takehito Kamata

Takehito Kamata, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor by Special Appointment at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. They specialize in international research collaborations and the internationalization of higher education. Kamata has been involved in various leadership roles, including President of the Council of International Graduate Students at the University of Minnesota and has received accolades such as the Josef Mestenhauser Student Award for Excellence in Campus Internationalization. They hold a Ph.D. in higher education, alongside degrees in political science and public administration. Presently, Kamata serves as the Vice Chair of the International Exchange Committee within the Association for the Promotion of Research Integrity in Japan and will be a Japan Chair Visiting Fellow at the Hudson Institute in 2026.
