Carolyn Everson

Carolyn Everson is the president of Instacart, the largest online grocery platform in North America. She joined the HSUS Board of Directors in 2021 and serves on the Human Resources committee.

As president of Instacart, Everson oversees the company’s retail, business development, and advertising businesses, as well as the People, Policy & Government Affairs, Legal, Partnerships, Instacart Pickup, and Care teams. Before joining Instacart, Everson served as vice president of Global Marketing Solutions at Facebook, leading the company’s relationships with top marketers and agencies for its family of apps. She was previously the corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Global Advertising Sales and Trade Marketing teams and the chief operating officer and executive vice president of U.S. ad sales for Viacom’s MTV Networks. She has been named to AdWeek’s “AdWeek 50” since 2013.

Committed to positive social change, Everson founded the Gun Safety Alliance and serves as the chair of WE Day UN, a youth empowerment event. She also serves on the boards of the Creative Artists Agency, the Mobile Marketing Association, Effie Worldwide, She Runs It, and Villanova University.

Everson received her MBA from Harvard Business School, where she was a Baker Scholar, and a bachelor’s degree in communications from Villanova University.
