NEW HOPE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Meet Group, a leading provider of interactive dating solutions, today announced the appointment of Norman Petty as General Counsel, effective March 15, 2021. In this role, Petty will lead the Company’s legal team while overseeing its world-class Trust and Safety organization charged with maintaining the safety and security of the Company’s millions of daily active users. Petty will report to Geoff Cook, Chief Executive Officer of The Meet Group.
Petty joins The Meet Group from Dow Jones & Company, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel and where he was the lead lawyer for Dow Jones’ consumer division, which comprises brands such as The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s Magazine, for over 20 years. Before that, he was a lawyer in Philadelphia at the law firms of Reed Smith and then Morgan Lewis.

Petty will play a key business role in helping The Meet Group maintain the momentum of recent years while providing counsel on key legal and safety matters and vPaaS opportunities. Petty also brings extensive experience in international markets, particularly in the APAC and EMEA regions.
