Tess Cortés is an experienced Motion Graphics and Video Design Program Director at The Modern College of Design, overseeing program development, faculty management, and student engagement since September 2018. With a solid foundation in motion design and video, Tess has served as both an instructor and an adjunct instructor, creating and teaching various courses. As an independent creative professional since May 2017, Tess specializes in video and sound production, graphic design, illustration, and animation. Additionally, Tess has a longstanding career as a video, sound, and intermedia artist, producing experimental imagery and sound rooted in early video art traditions. Previous roles include curatorial, educational, and grant panelist positions, demonstrating a robust engagement with the arts community. Tess holds an MFA in Media Studies from the University of Cincinnati and a BFA in Studio Art from Wright State University.
