Sam Wilson is a seasoned scientific programmer and data scientist with extensive experience in meteorology and oceanography. Currently serving as a CIMAR/UHSLC Scientific Programmer at the Research Corporation of the University of Hawai'i, Sam is focused on developing a next-gen data store for global tide gauge water levels. Previously, at IEM, Sam contributed to disaster preparedness and recovery through process automation and database management as a Data Scientist (GIS). From August 2008 to September 2022, Sam held multiple roles at Surfline Wavetrak, Inc., including Senior Forecast Data Scientist and Science Department Manager, where responsibilities ranged from managing scientific performance metrics to overseeing real-time data systems for wind and weather measurements. Sam's academic background includes a Master of Science in Meteorology from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Florida State University.
