Director of Product at The Trade Desk

Steve Friesen is the current Director of Product at The Trade Desk. Prior to their current position, they were a Principal Program Manager at Microsoft from June 2005 to November 2015. In this role, they drove cross divisional effort for improving people relevance via machine learned models, allowing customers to find the most relevant person when addressing mail in Office 365. Steve also drove the project expanding Big Data Efforts in Office 365 leveraging technologies such as Hadoop. Prior to their time at Microsoft, Steve was a Software Test Engineer Lead at StarNine Technologies from January 1994 to December 1997. In this role, they created an Automated Test system for Entourage and Performance Automation system. Steve was also the Technical test lead for Entourage (Mail application for the Macintosh Office Suite) and led Silicon Valley Campus Macintosh Lab.

Steve Friesen has a certificate in management essentials from Harvard Business School Online. Steve also has a bachelor's degree in religious education with a minor in cross-cultural studies from Prairie Bible College. In addition, they have certification from The Trade Desk in Edge Academy Certified: Marketing Foundations and from The Trade Desk, Inc. in Trading Academy - Programmatic Certification.
