Brian Morewitz

SVP & Head, Drama Development, ABC Entertainment at The Walt Disney Company

Brian Morewitz was named senior vice president, head of Drama Development, ABC Entertainment, in March 2016. In this position, he oversees the development and production of all drama pilots and the launch of new series for ABC Entertainment. He reports to Karey Burke, president, ABC Entertainment. He was previously vice president, Drama Development, ABC Entertainment, since November 2004. He has developed and overseen the series “The Good Doctor,” “Designated Survivor,” “Quantico,” “American Crime,” “Castle,” “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Revenge,” “Nashville” and “Brothers & Sisters.”

Prior to ABC, Morewitz was senior vice president, Escape Artists, where he helped develop feature films, including “Knowing,” starring Nicolas Cage, and “S.W.A.T.” Previously he held other development positions within the motion picture industry, including senior vice president, Black and Blu Entertainment, and vice president, Lucas Foster Productions. He began his career as a story editor for New Line Cinema.

Morewitz attended James Madison University. He is married and has two children.
