Paul Bergl, MD, FACP, is a seasoned intensivist and program director currently at ThedaCare since May 2025. Bergl previously held the role of Medical ICU Director and intensivist at Gundersen Health System from April 2021 to April 2025. Clinical expertise encompasses medical intensive care, critical care for cardiac and cardiothoracic surgery, and management of neurosurgical patients, along with extensive procedural skills. Prior academic roles include Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where responsibilities included critical care, general internal medicine, and directing fellowship programs. Bergl's education includes an MD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BS in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Marquette University.
