Everett Cook Joins The Org as Editor

The Org has brought Everett Cook on board as the Editor of its growing content platform, called Insights. He will be based in New York City and report directly to Head of Content Jade Cooper.

As an Editor at The Org, his responsibilities will include writing and editing in-depth profiles, data-driven features, and other content. Everett is also thrilled to be working with The Org’s Fellows to craft insightful stories on people and trends from around the world, as well as writing stories that highlight the unsung heroes at some of the world’s most interesting companies.

“I’m excited to work at The Org because I believe to my core that transparency is the key to a stronger, healthier business ecosystem,” Everett stated. “Social media was created in part to meld the public and the private, but instead, has created even more fragmentation in how we interact. We have our actual lives in the physical world, and then we have a curated version of ourselves that we present to the internet as reality. By bringing more transparency to organizations and the rockstars who work inside of them, The Org bridges that gap.”

Prior to joining the team, Everett was a freelance writer based out of New York. During this time he ghostwrote books and biographies as a Premium Writer at Story Terrace, published longform articles for websites and magazines, and led content direction for early-stage startups. His bylines have appeared in The Atlantic, The San Francisco Chronicle, Deadspin, The New York Times, USA Today, and others.

Before starting his freelance career he led content direction as the Chief Storyteller at Wefunder in San Francisco and covered the Patriots for The Boston Globe, food and spirits for The Desert Sun in Palm Springs, CA, and sports for The Los Angeles Times.

Outside of writing, Everett enjoys hiking, snowboarding, live music, the KBO, and fantasy football.

Everett was born in Kamakura, Japan, and has lived in 16 different cities. He currently resides in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, but still considers San Jose, CA home.
