Bob Zapata

Bob Zapata is a distinguished legal professional with extensive experience in strategic transactions and corporate finance. Currently serving as Senior Managing Director and General Counsel for Strategic Transactions & Corporate Finance at TIAA since 2017, Bob leads legal teams responsible for M&A, venture capital, and corporate finance, advising senior executives and facilitating cross-functional collaboration. Additionally, Bob holds the position of Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Greenwich Ballet Academy, a non-profit dedicated to pre-professional ballet training. Previous roles include Executive Counsel for Mergers & Acquisitions at GE, Counsel at Hogan Lovells, and Assistant General Counsel positions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and AIG. Bob received an A.B. in Government from Harvard University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
