David Nungaray

David Nungaray is a seasoned educational leader with extensive experience in various roles within the K-12 education sector. Currently serving as Co-Founder of Gente Empowerment Network since May 2023 and as Bilingual Consulting Partner at TNTP since July 2021, Nungaray has previously held significant positions including Principal and Associate Principal at San Antonio ISD from July 2016 to July 2021, and Academic Dean and Assistant Principal at Alamo Heights Independent School District from April 2014 to July 2016. Nungaray's career in education began as a 4th Grade Dual Language Teacher at San Antonio ISD, and includes a role as Manager of Teacher Leadership Development at Teach For America. Nungaray holds a Master's Degree in School Administration from Trinity University and a B.A. in Political Science from Chapman University, where Nungaray also served as Vice President for Cabinet.
