John Newton

John Newton is the SVP, Ceded Reinsurance at Tokio Marine HCC. John has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry.

John started their career in 1986 as a financial analyst for First Interstate Bancard. John then became an internal auditor for Farmers Insurance Group in 1989. In 1990, they joined Transamerica Insurance Group as a senior reinsurance accountant. John was promoted to assistant vice president - reinsurance in 1993 and held that position until 1999 when they left to join Scruggs Consulting as a senior manager.

In 2001, John became the vice president of Green Valley Financial Services. The following year they joined State National Insurance Companies as their assistant controller. In 2003, they were hired by Fairmont Specialty Group as their assistant vice president - reinsurance and they remained with the company until 2006.

John Newton joined Tokio Marine HCC in January 2007 as their SVP, Ceded Reinsurance. John has been with the company for over 12 years and has played a vital role in its continued success.

John Newton has a MBA in Finance from California Lutheran University, a BS in Finance from California State University, Northridge, and is a CPCU, ARe, and ARM-E.

Their manager is Susan Rivera, Chief Executive Officer. They are on a team with Laurence C.d. Donnelly - President and Chief Executive Officer, Guaranty Group , Thomas A. Harmeyer - Executive Vice President, and Michael Palotay - President, Cyber & Professional Lines Group.
