Yoko Yamashita is an academic instructor at Tokyo Academics since May 2023 and serves as a student research assistant in the Department of Medical Biochemistry at Tokyo Medical and Dental University from September 2023. Yoko has been a freelance translator with Cactus Communications since July 2019 and held the role of ambassador for the International Student Congress of (bio)Medical Sciences from June 2021 to June 2022. Previous experience includes research assistant positions at The Johns Hopkins University, specifically in the Balanoff lab and the Dawson lab, as well as teaching assistant roles for courses in Human Origins and Foundations of Brain, Behavior, and Cognition. Yoko's early academic journey includes an undergraduate research assistant role in the Kuchibhotla lab at The Johns Hopkins University and a short-term internship at Kyoto University's Primate Research Institute. Yoko is currently pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree at Tokyo Medical and Dental University, having previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from The Johns Hopkins University and an International Baccalaureate Diploma from Nagoya International School.
