Chief Operating & People Officer at Topgolf

Genifer (Gen) Gray serves as Chief Operating Officer, Global Topgolf Venues, where she is responsible for all owned and operated venues located in the U.S. and U.K., including the pipeline for growth, operational excellence, revenue programming, training, food and beverage culinary operations, event sales and the Player experience.

Prior to her current role, Gen spent a year as Chief Operating Officer, U.S. Venues, before she was promoted, and her role expanded as she assumes leadership for global operations in order to deliver a consistent Player and brand experience as Topgolf continues to rapidly grow. She also spent three years as Topgolf’s Vice President of U.S. Operations, where she proved to be a transformational leader having spearheaded many operational programs and enhancements, as well as growing and leading her teams while demonstrating an unwavering belief in Topgolf’s core values and commitment to inclusivity.

Before joining Topgolf, Gen was Chief Operating Officer at Maggiano’s Little Italy, overseeing 53 restaurants and 10,000 employees. She began her career in 1998 with Brinker International and worked her way up through its family of brands, serving in a variety of roles where she gained invaluable restaurant and hospitality experience.

Gen studied hospitality management at the University of Georgia and executive leadership at Kellogg’s School of Business at Northwestern University. She’s known for her balance of storytelling, strength and humility to create positive change as she leads with heart and courage. She was one of the recipients of the distinguished 2022 Compassionate Leaders Circle Awards and currently serves on the Texas Diversity Council. She’s also the executive sponsor of the Topgolf PRIDE Diversity Resource Group.
