Jeroen de Smet

Jeroen De Smet has extensive experience in powertrain development at Toyota Motor Europe since January 2009, currently serving as Senior Manager Advanced Powertrain, overseeing research, future target setting, and system-level model-based design for electrified vehicles. Previous roles include Senior Manager Powertrain Digitalisation, where responsibilities encompassed model-based calibration and development for HEV, PHEV, FCEV, and data-driven energy management strategies. Jeroen's career began in calibration engineering, with foundational roles in diesel engine calibration at both Toyota Motor Europe and FEV Motorentechnik. Educationally, Jeroen holds a degree in Automotive Engineering, specializing in combustion engines, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Automotive, supported by early studies in modern languages and mathematics.
