Richard Cheng

Richard Cheng is a Senior Research Scientist in Robotics at Toyota Research Institute since March 2021, previously serving as a Research Scientist in the same field. Cheng earned a PhD from Caltech, where involvement included a role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a robotics course. Prior experiences include a Research Intern position at Toyota Research Institute - Robotics and conducting undergraduate research at Princeton University on piezoelectric films. Cheng's academic credentials comprise a Bachelor's of Science and Engineering in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton and a Master’s Degree from Caltech, complemented by diverse research and teaching roles, including studies at Harvard and collaborations with institutions in China.
