Michael Gouwens

Michael Gouwens is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in front-end development and open-source initiatives. Currently serving as the Director of the Open-Source Program Office at TransUnion since 2017, Michael has successfully combined legal, information security, and solution architecture to establish comprehensive open-source policies and guidelines. Prior to this role, Michael cultivated a culture of exceptional UI craftsmanship as the Head of Front-End Development Communities of Practice at TransUnion. Michael's past experience includes positions as Lead Front-End Developer at Charles Schwab, where performance enhancements on trading platforms were achieved, and as Senior Interactive Developer at Aptus Health, where innovative eLearning applications were engineered. Beginning the career in web development and design with companies such as CDW and Scoutware, Michael holds a degree from DePaul University.
