Supraja Sundaresan has a diverse range of work experience in various engineering and sustainability roles. Starting in 2015, as a Research Assistant at Amburtech, they assisted in developing water treatment techniques and monitored the screening process for effluent discharges. In 2017, they interned at the NYC Department of City Planning, where they reviewed air quality and noise analyses and assisted in reporting and renewing permits. Supraja also interned as a Sustainability Intern at New York University, conducting sound surveys and updating hazardous waste contingency plans. In 2018, they joined AECOM as a Traffic Noise Engineer, where they engineered traffic noise models and validated baseline models. From 2020 to 2022, they worked at WBK Engineering, LLC as a Transportation Design Engineer, where they played a key role in designing highway projects, drafting plans, and aiding in project management. Currently, Supraja holds the position of Civil Engineer (Roadway) at TranSystems, starting in 2022.
Supraja Sundaresan obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from KCG College of Technology in 2012-2016. Following that, they pursued a Master's Degree in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering at New York University from 2016-2018. Additionally, Supraja has obtained several certifications including Basics of Transportation Planning from FHWA National Highway Institute in 2020, FHWA Traffic Noise Model 2.5 from BOWLBY & ASSOCIATES, INC. in 2018, and a Certificate of Accomplishment for STAAD.ProV8i Software from Bentley Systems in 2015.
