Hatem Sabry

Hatem Sabry is the CFO at Trella, a position they have held since December 2019. Prior to joining Trella, Sabry served as Vice President of Finance at Swvl from August 2019 to December 2019. From July 2012 to July 2019, Sabry worked at Deutsche Bank as Director - Corporate Banking Coverage (CBC) Middle East & Africa. In this role, they were responsible for providing comprehensive banking coverage and services to large corporate clients in the Middle East and Africa region. In June 2011, Sabry joined Deutsche Bank as a Summer Associate in the Leveraged Finance and Healthcare M&A group. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Sabry worked as an Associate at CI Capital from March 2009 to June 2010, where they were a member of the Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) Private Equity Fund. At CI Capital, Sabry performed sector analysis on various industrial sectors in Egypt and identified target companies for investment. Hatem also performed detailed due diligence, built valuation models, and drafted deal term sheets. Prior to CI Capital, Sabry worked as an Analyst - Associate in the Equity Research department at EFG-Hermes from November 2005 to March 2009.

Hatem Sabry received their MBA from The Wharton School in finance and entrepreneurial management. Hatem also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charter from the CAIA Association and the CFA charter from the CFA Institute. Their undergraduate degree is in economics from Cairo University, and they also have an IGCSE from the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). In addition, they have completed Coursera courses in AI for Everyone, Getting and Cleaning Data, R Programming, and The Data Scientist’s Toolbox.
