Vice President Operations at Trevali Mining

Sheron Kaviua has over 16 years of experience in the mining industry. Sheron currently serves as the Vice President of Operations at Trevali, where they are responsible for the management of the Rosh Pinah Zinc Mine operations. In this role, Sheron focuses on delivering sustainable shareholder value through transformative technology and ESG practices. Prior to this, they held the position of Technical Services Manager at Trevali, overseeing various sections including mine and exploration geology, survey, ventilation, geotechnical engineering, and mine planning. Before their time at Trevali, Sheron worked as the Mineral Resources Manager, contributing to the transformation of the operation into a profitable and high-performing mine at RPZC under Glencore. Sheron also increased the inferred resources by 3 MT, extending the mine's life. Earlier in their career, Sheron worked as a Senior Production Geologist at Exxaro Resources, where they optimized resource estimation processes and mentored junior geoscientists. Sheron also founded their own consultancy, Ewe Geological Services, and managed exploration programs in Namibia and Angola. Sheron began their career as a Mine Geologist at Areva and later at Langer Heinrich Mine. Sheron holds a graduate degree in Geology and started their professional journey as a Graduate Geologist at Anglo American.

From 2020 to 2021, Sheron attended SIRDAR, where they completed an Applied Directorship Programme.

From 2018 to 2020, Sheron studied at the London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) and earned an MBA degree. Their field of study focused on Project Management and Cross Cultural Management.

In 2018, Sheron briefly attended Stellenbosch University, where they studied Servant Leadership in the field of Organizational Leadership.

From 2016 to 2018, Sheron pursued a Master's in Engineering by Research at the University of the Witwatersrand with a focus on Mining and Mineral Engineering.

In 2009, Sheron earned a Graduate diploma with Distinctions in Mining and Mineral Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand.

From 2008 to 2009, Sheron attended Rhodes University and obtained a BSc Honours degree in Geology.

Lastly, from 2001 to 2004, Sheron completed their Bachelor's degree in Geology and Environmental Biology at the University of Namibie.
