Kathryn Insall

Kathryn is a Partner in Trowers & Hamlins' Commercial Litigation department, based in the Exeter office, which she joined in July 2016 after 9 years in London at a top city litigation practice.

Kathryn has extensive and varied commercial litigation experience with a particular focus on the aerospace, insurance, manufacturing and technology sectors, all of which are particularly well represented in the South West. She has acted for large corporates, registered providers, insurers, airports/airlines, manufacturers, energy providers and high net worth individuals/entrepreneurs with respect to domestic and multi-jurisdictional disputes including work across the UK, France, Germany, Canada, India, Egypt, Dubai, Turkey, South Africa and the US.

She has significant experience of handling high profile aviation disaster work, defence of passenger and cargo claims and leasing disputes. She has recently been involved in advising a number of her aerospace clients on emerging policy regarding the potential impact of "Brexit" and the threat posed by drones.

She has further advised in relation to complex coverage queries/maintenance and design faults in relation to both the commercial property and construction sectors and on the Global Data Protection Regulation.

Kathryn has represented clients in court and arbitration proceedings and also in alternative dispute resolution processes such as mediation.

Kathryn regularly speaks at major sector events including most recently at the Smith, Gambrell & Russell Annual Aviation Summit in Dublin. Kathryn was involved in a panel discussing aircraft repossessions in light of the collapse of Monarc
