Lauren Roth

Associate Commissioner for Policy at U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

Lauren Roth is the Associate Commissioner for Policy in the Office of the Commissioner at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In this position, Ms. Roth is responsible for broad policy matters and other regulatory issues in areas regulated by the FDA. She serves as an advisor to the Commissioner and FDA leadership on cross-cutting policy priorities, as well as regulations and guidance development.

Ms. Roth joined FDA as the Associate Director for Strategy and Regulatory Operations in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) and, most recently, she served as a Senior Advisor to FDA’s Chief of Staff. In those roles, she advised on regulatory, legislative, and compliance matters, and she managed strategic policy initiatives related to device safety, tobacco regulation, and produce safety inspections. Previously, Ms. Roth practiced food and drug law at a large international law firm and at a pharmaceutical trade association. She earned a bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Virginia.
