John Eisenberg is currently the Assistant Attorney General for National Security, having previously held several prominent positions in legal and governmental roles. From 2017 to 2021, Eisenberg served as Deputy Counsel to the President and Legal Adviser to the National Security Council at The White House. They were also a former Assistant to the President, Deputy Counsel to the President, and NSC Legal Advisor from 2021 to 2025. Prior to these roles, Eisenberg was a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP from 2009 to 2017 and served as Associate Deputy Attorney General at the United States Department of Justice from 2008 to 2009. Eisenberg earned a JD from Yale Law School in 2001 and is currently continuing their education at Poly.
