Lauren A. Merkel

Lauren A. Merkel is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in leadership and international affairs. Currently serving as General Manager and Vice President of Special Projects at U.S. News & World Report since June 2022, Merkel previously held the position of Vice President for International Affairs & Investment at Empire State Development, where responsibilities included organizing international trade missions and promoting New York State export programs. Merkel's expertise also encompasses roles at the Irish Arts Center and Lord Cultural Resources, where as a Senior Consultant, significant contributions were made to over 2,300 cultural projects globally. Educational credentials include an MBA in Global Strategy and Leadership from McGill University and a BA in Journalism, Business Administration, and French from the University of Richmond.
