Sofia Verstraete

Sofia Verstraete is an experienced physician and academic in the field of pediatrics, currently serving as the Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program and the Director of Advancing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for Sub-Specialty Fellowships at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals since September 2019. With a role as a pediatric physician and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UCSF Health since June 2016, Sofia's expertise is backed by extensive training, including a Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship and a Master's Degree in Clinical Research from the University of California, San Francisco. Prior to these roles, Sofia completed a pediatric residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital and obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
