Matthew Evans

Matthew Evans is an accomplished IT professional with extensive experience in cloud infrastructure, systems operations, and technical support. Currently serving as the Deputy Director of Cloud Infrastructure and Platforms at the Department for Education since August 2022, Matthew provides strategic direction and manages cloud services to ensure high availability and performance. Prior to this role, Matthew was Head of Systems at the University of York and held various leadership positions at TSYS from February 2007 to May 2020, including Director of Systems Operation and Administration and Associate Director of Technical Support. With a foundational career beginning as a Server Technician at Norwich Union, Matthew has developed a robust expertise in managing distributed platforms and leading technical teams across different regions and technologies.
