Michael Tobias

Michael Tobias is the current director at umlaut. Prior to their current position, they worked as an operations analyst intern at Wells Fargo from May 2013 to August 2013. In this role, they were responsible for identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) by researching and mapping data to help identify patterns across different lines of business. Michael also devised strategies to reduce errors by 50% by the end of fiscal year 2014.

From September 2012 to May 2014, Tobias served as a graduate teaching assistant at Iowa State University. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team of students in designing and building a Formula SAE racing car. The team went on to compete in multiple competitions, coming in first place in the 2012 Midwest Formula SAE regional competition.

In January 2012, Tobias interned at Volkswagen India, where they worked on a variety of engineering projects. Michael then interned at Kraft Foods from July 2010 to December 2010, working on a packaging redesign project that won first place in the company-wide packaging design competition.

From January 2009 to March 2012, Tobias was the project lead and head of operations and marketing for Resonance Racing, a student-run organization that designs, builds, and races electric cars. Under their leadership, the team won multiple competitions and set several world records.
