Thierry Lucas is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in environmental management and policy. Since June 2008, Thierry has served as the Marine Litter Coordinator at the UN Environment Programme, providing strategic guidance on implementing marine litter and microplastics resolutions while managing a multi-divisional team and fostering external partnerships. Previously, Thierry worked as the Ecosystems Management Regional Coordinator for Europe, advising on ecosystems and biodiversity policy. Before joining UN Environment, Thierry held the role of KMS Advisor at UNFPA, managing a sexual and reproductive health program across seven Asian countries. Thierry's career began as a Software Engineer at UNCTAD, where responsibilities included developing software for a cargo tracking system and liaising with European institutions. Thierry holds an engineering degree in Mathematics and Software Science from Grenoble INP - UGA.
