Julia Rocha Romero

Julia Rocha Romero is an experienced professional specializing in climate change, currently serving as a Nature-based Solution Specialist at the UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre since February 2021. Julia has contributed to the production of UNEP's Emissions Gap Report and supports various climate change mitigation projects aimed at assisting Member States with their Nationally Determined Contributions. Prior to this role, Julia worked as a Climate Change Consultant at GH Sustainability, focusing on sustainability reporting and GHG emissions accounting, and gained experience at the European Institute of Innovation and Technology in climate innovation. Julia has lectured on climate issues and engaged in political affairs and public diplomacy at the Embassy of Denmark in Brazil. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Climate Change from the University of Copenhagen and multiple degrees in related fields.
