Adina Trunk is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in democracy, governance, and international development. Currently serving as Chief of the Executive Office at UNESCO since February 2024, Trunk previously held the position of Chief of Staff to the Secretary-General at International IDEA from January 2016 to February 2024. Trunk's work at International IDEA encompassed strategic advisory roles and the management of key projects, including contributing to the flagship publication, The Global State of Democracy. Prior to this, Trunk provided strategic advice to Belarus's largest opposition party and managed diverse projects related to sustainability and human rights. Trunk's career also includes positions at the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and various roles focused on women's political participation and market consulting in an international context. Academic qualifications include a Master's in Political Science from the University of Gothenburg and executive education from Harvard Business School.
