Javier Moreno-Rivero

Javier Moreno-Rivero, PhD, currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York, focusing on translation, interpreting, sociolinguistics, language policy, linguistic anthropology, and public policy analysis. In addition to this role, Javier is an Academic Advisor for Languages, Linguistics and Social Sciences at Cambridge University Press and supervises dissertations for the MA in Translation at The Open University. Javier has extensive experience as a freelance translator specializing in legal, business, and financial translation. Previous positions include researcher and assessor at the University of Cambridge, Visiting Researcher in Linguistics and Social Justice at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and lecturer at UCLA. Javier holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Cambridge and multiple advanced degrees in translation and applied linguistics.
