Wouter Devriendt

Head of Finance & Controls at UniCredit

Wouter Devriendt holds an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management (1992) as well as a Master's degree in applied economics from the Catholic University of Louvain (KU Leuven) in Belgium (1989).

He has broad experience in the financial sector from business development to organisational transformation coupled with a truly global professional track record, effective stakeholder management and an extensive network across regulatory, banking and advisory communities.

Between 1993 and 2011, he gained extensive international experience with ABN AMRO (Amsterdam, London, Prague, Houston, Ecuador and Sydney) and Fortis (Brussels and Amsterdam).

From 2011 to 2016, he primarily acted as an independent adviser to the Belgian Federal Holding and Investment Company, where he was responsible for the management of the Belgian State's investments in the financial sector.

From 2012 to 2016, Wouter was a member of the Board of Directors of Belfius and from 2013 to 2016, he was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Amsterdam Trade Bank.

From 2014 to 2016, he was a member of the General Council of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund which aims to contribute to the stability of the Greek banking system.

Since May 2016, he has been Chief Executive Officer of Dexia (Brussels) and of Dexia Crédit Local (Paris).
