Warner Hoornenborg

Warner Hoornenborg currently serves as a Scientist in Non-Clinical Development at uniQure since September 2022, after progressing from the role of Jr. Scientist. Prior experience includes a PhD candidacy at the University of Groningen from February 2018 to August 2022, where the thesis focused on metabolic interventions, specifically Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. Warner also held various positions at Albert Heijn from November 2008 to January 2018, initially as a ground employee and advancing to Teamleader, overseeing employee engagement and coaching. Experience as a Project Assistant at Energy Academy Europe involved organizing study tours for sustainable energy solutions, alongside mentoring for an online course. Additional teaching experiences at the University of Groningen and University Medical Center Groningen provided skills in training students in anatomy, behavior, and biomedical research analysis. Warner's academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences and an Honours Master Programme in Leadership, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Biology with specialization in Biomedical, Behavioural, and Neuroscience from the University of Groningen.
