Mustafa Elkanzi is a seasoned humanitarian professional with extensive experience in emergency coordination and field operations. Currently serving as Senior Emergency Coordinator and Deputy Representative at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) since June 2018, Mustafa is responsible for staff capacity development, emergency response program implementation, and resource mobilization. Prior to this role, Mustafa was Director of Field Operations at CANADEM from April 2014 to June 2018, overseeing field-related policies and partnerships, and advising on business opportunities. Mustafa's earlier career includes significant leadership roles at the International Rescue Committee, where responsibilities included country program management, strategic direction, and liaison with various stakeholders across multiple countries. Education includes an M.Sc. in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering from the University of Nairobi and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Khartoum.
