Saskia Ramming has extensive experience within the United Nations, currently serving as the Deputy Director of the Middle East Division in the DPPA-DPO since November 2006. Ramming has held various roles, including Chief of the Political Unit, where analysis and advice were provided to the Special Coordinator for Lebanon, and as Head of Office for the United Nations Liaison Office to the League of Arab States in Cairo. Earlier positions included Political Affairs Officer for the Office of the Special Coordinator for Lebanon, managing political monitoring and analysis, and similar roles focused on political developments in the Israeli-Palestinian context and peacekeeping operations in Haiti and Kosovo. Prior to joining the UN, Ramming worked as an Electoral Affairs Officer in Cote d'Ivoire and as a consultant for the World Bank, focusing on disarmament and conflict analysis. Ramming holds a Master's degree in International Relations from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and has completed studies at Freie Universität Berlin and Ecole normale supérieure.
