Sam Yniguez is the Director of Public Relations for UC Merced, bringing over 15 years of experience in media and public affairs. They previously held roles such as Director of Communications for Merced Union High School District and Public Information Officer for Caltrans, where they focused on engaging the community and promoting transparency. Sam started their career as a photographer and photojournalist for KMPH Fox 26 and KSEE 24 News, and also worked as a Brand Manager for 51FIFTY Energy Drink. They earned a degree in Communication Studies from California State University-Stanislaus and completed their general education at Merced College.
