James Hataway

James Hataway serves as the Senior Director for Integrated Media Communications at The University of Georgia since March 2018, overseeing media relations and managing staff and graduate interns. With prior roles at the same institution, Hataway has extensive experience in public relations, research communication, and magazine production. Hataway's career includes working as a Science Writer for various organizations, including the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Initiative For Macular Degeneration and the National Academies. Hataway has contributed to multiple media outlets and academic publications, complemented by a Master’s degree in Journalism from The University of Georgia and a Bachelor's degree in History and Religious Studies from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
