Troy Hourie is an accomplished Associate Professor at the University of Guelph since August 2018, with a longstanding freelance career as a scenographer and new media-based installation artist since 1997. Hourie's notable work includes set and scenic design for productions such as "The Magic Flute" and "Ariadne in Naxos" at The Glimmerglass Festival. Hourie's artistic contributions also include the "Apparitions Attic" installation at Arteles Creative Centre and "Escape to Beira, casa da maravillha" in Portugal. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Scenography from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre- Scenic Design from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a Bachelor of Interior Design from the University of Manitoba. Previous academic positions include roles at Dalhousie University and New York University’s Steinhardt School.
