Charles Ledford

Charles "Stretch" Ledford is an Associate Professor of Journalism at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where projects focus on innovative digital distribution methods for multimedia content aimed at fostering discussions in marginalized communities. With a foundation in photojournalism, Ledford's work blends 35mm DSLR video and film elicitation to investigate the intersections of visual storytelling, sociology, and journalism. Additionally, Ledford serves as a contributing photographer for multiple outlets, including NBCUniversal, The Weather Channel, and Time Magazine, and has worked as a contributing producer for Education Week and The Globe and Mail. Ledford holds an M.A. in Multimedia Journalism from the University of Miami and a B.S. in Journalism and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
