Mary Pat McGuire

Mary Pat McGuire is an accomplished academic and professional in landscape architecture, currently serving as the Dean's Fellow for Research and Associate Professor at the College of Fine & Applied Arts, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where McGuire also chairs the Master of Landscape Architecture Program. McGuire is the founder of Depave Chicago and leads the WATER LAB, a design research studio focused on climate adaptation in urban environments. Previous roles include Research Fellow at the Landscape Architecture Foundation, Studio Assistant Professor at IIT College of Architecture, and Landscape Architect at various firms including Conservation Design Forum and Peter Walker and Partners. McGuire's educational background includes a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from William & Mary, complemented by multiple certificates in sustainability and plant studies.
