Jordana Moore Saggese serves as the Director of The David C. Driskell Center at the University of Maryland since July 2023, overseeing long-term planning and policy implementation centered on Black art. Saggese is also a Professor and Associate Professor in the Department of Art History & Archaeology, specializing in Modern and Contemporary American Art with a focus on expressions of blackness. Saggese has held various leadership roles, including Interim Chair and Associate Chair of the department, where responsibilities included curriculum development and budget management. Additional experience includes serving as Editor in Chief for the Art Journal at CAA Advancing Art & Design and academic coaching to support students in their careers. Saggese holds a PhD in Modern & Contemporary Art History and has previously taught at institutions such as California College of the Arts and Santa Clara University.
