Kathryn Mumford

Kathryn Mumford currently serves as the Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Melbourne, a position held since October 2022. With a long tenure at the University of Melbourne since May 2009, Kathryn has held various academic roles including Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, Lecturer, and Research Fellow. Prior to academic positions, Kathryn worked as an Engineer specializing in contaminated sites at WorleyParsons from April 2008 to March 2009 and briefly as a Chemical Engineer at Huntsman Chemical Company. Kathryn earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Melbourne and has also obtained a PhD in Engineering (Chem)/Commerce through a collaboration between Melbourne University and the Australian Antarctic Division.
