Sharon McDonald

Sharon McDonald is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in project management and education. As the Head of Estates & Facilities Portfolio Office at the University of Nottingham since February 2020, Sharon has successfully developed the Estates Portfolio Office and aligned the portfolio configuration with the university's strategic priorities. Prior roles include Programme Manager at the University of Nottingham, where Sharon oversaw capital development projects during the Covid pandemic, and New Product Introduction Programme Manager at FAREVA, managing the industrialisation of new products in compliance with industry regulations. Sharon's background includes teaching mathematics at secondary school level, founding Exogen Consulting Ltd to provide project management services in the pharmaceutical sector, and holding various project management roles in well-known companies including Reckitt Benckiser and Boots Healthcare International. Sharon holds a PhD in Colloid & Surface Physical Chemistry from the University of Bristol, a PGCE from the University of Hull, an MSc from the University of Bristol, and a BSc in Chemistry from the same institution.
