Zimna Thaufeeg

Zimna Thaufeeg is an experienced professional with a strong background in research and policy advisory roles. Currently serving as an Assistant Research Fellow at the University of Otago since April 2022 and as a Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Justice in New Zealand since October 2019, Zimna has demonstrated expertise in data collection and analysis, particularly in social protection programs. Previous roles include Office Administrator at the Nawawi Center, Local Consultant/Social Protection Research Officer at the Asian Development Bank, and Sector Consultant for the Maldives Economic Diversification Project at CDE Consulting Maldives. Additionally, Zimna held significant positions within the Ministry of Health and Family, overseeing projects related to social protection and pension administration. Academically, Zimna holds a Master's degree in International and Development Economics from The Australian National University and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Statistics from Victoria University of Wellington.
