Shirley Mays

Shirley Mays currently serves as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of South Dakota Knudsen School of Law and as an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of South Dakota. Previously, Shirley held the position of Visiting Professor of Law at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, where Shirley taught courses in Contracts, UCC Sales, Legal Drafting, and Real Estate Transactions, while also participating in student affairs and academic discipline investigations. Shirley's experience also includes serving as General/Corporate Counsel for EVO Transportation & Energy Services, Inc., providing legal advice to executives and managing legal matters. As Dean and Professor of Law at Arizona Summit Law School, Shirley led significant redesigns in the law school model and enhanced student career placement results. Prior experience includes serving as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor at Capital University Law School. Shirley holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Central State University.
